Doctrine/Authority of baptism:

Ordained by god Thee father
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water…John 1:33 (See John 1:6)

Go, teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Matt 28:19

Holy Spirit endorses and qualifies a person to be baptized
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? …Acts 10:47

Commanded by the apostles
And he (Peter) commanded them to be baptized … Acts 10:48

Practiced by the early church
Then they that gladly received his words were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41

 

Baptism is:

The counsel of GOD
The Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God, being not baptized. Luke 7:30

The Righteousness of GOD
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Mathew 3:15

To justify GOD
The people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized…. Luke 7:29

For the remission of sins and for the promise of the gift of Holy Spirit
Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

For a good conscience toward GOD
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) 1 Peter 3:21

To be dead to sin and to the world along with Christ
Know ye not that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Rom 6:3

To be buried with him and to walk with him in newness of life
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4; Colossians 2.21

To Put on Christ
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27

 

People obey God’s commandment in baptism only when:

The spiritual eyes open to believe in the kingdom of god and name of Jesus
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:12

Miracles and signs are done
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continues with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Acts 8:13

God touches a person’s life
And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose and was baptized. Acts 9:18

 The baptism of Jesus
The price paid by Jesus to be Baptized (a very long distance traveled)
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him Matthew 3:13

 Justification against Christ's baptism
John forbad him, ‘I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?’ Matthew 3:14
In spite of the supremacy of Jesus

 Manifestation of Christ  was revealed only through and after baptism

Reward of Obedience/disobedience to the commandment of baptism
Salvation he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; mark 16:16

Open heavens And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3:16, Luke 3:21

What happens if not Baptized?
But he that believeth not shall be damned

How to be baptized:

In the name of the father , son and the holy spirit
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19:2 -5

The authority of Jesus is to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

 Totally immersed in water
And John also was baptized in Aenon, because there was much water there. John 3:23

Only after self professed faith in Christ
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, Mark 16:16
